Green

Green is another important Life color.

Without green, life as we know it would not exist.  For the green pigment in life is derived from Chlorophyll and chlorophyll is an essential ingredient in the photosynthetic process which provides nourishment to plants and oxygen for our breathing.  This is the reason why massive deforestation in the name of economic development is generally not a very wise practice.

Natural Green:

Chlorophyll (also chlorophyl) is a green pigment found in all plants, algae, and cyanobacteria. Its name is derived from the Greek χλωρός (chloros “green”) and φύλλον (phyllon “leaf”). Chlorophyll absorbs light most strongly in the blue portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, followed by the red portion. However, it is a poor absorber of green and near-green portions of the spectrum, hence the green color of chlorophyll-containing tissues.

.Chlorophyll is utilized in a process called Photosynthesis where, from the simplest point of view, sunlight, carbon dioxide and water produce glucose and oxygen for nourishment and respiration.

The process is actually much much more complicated.
A view from just one level deeper might look something like this…

All of this might then be applied to using chlorophyll and
its related products to color/dye other materials.
